NFU-Manitoba Convention 2016

July 9, 2016 @ 10:00 am - 5:30 pm

| $25

Join us for a very important series of discussions on public involvement in farming.

Here are just a few of the great things at our event:

  • Food Systems, Farmers and Climate Change – Darrin Qualman has been heading up our special Manitoba lead climate change research. You’ll be intrigued to hear about what we’ve found out so far. Reducing our greenhouse gas emissions in half is no easy task, but it may be possible.
  • Impacts of Public Plant Breeding – (Guest(s) to be Announced). How important is the role of public plant breeding to everyone?
  • Keeping the Public Informed – Discussion
  • NFU and You: linking policy work with running our farms – a discussion of the practical benefits of NFU membership and the value of including farmers’ knowledge in the public policy process. This will be lead by an address from NFU President Jan Slomp, with Q & A.
